Springfield Township is a wonderful place to live — a community of exemplary schools, history, and community spirit, spanning the neighborhoods of Erdenheim, Flourtown, Wyndmoor, and parts of Oreland, North Hills, Glenside, Lafayette Hill, Fort Washington, and Laverock.
To ease your settling in, we’ve put together this Welcome to Springfield packet, enclosed with: contact information for your government representatives and service organizations, two Voter Registration Application forms, a letter on the Homestead Exclusion Assessment, a Dates Sheet of civic deadlines and Democratic Party events, and your ward, precinct, and polling place.

Key Dates for the 2026 Election
October 19
Last day to register to vote in the November election.
October 27
Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot.
November 3
General Election Day. Polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
From Your Tax Collector
The Homestead Exclusion Assessment
Joelle Kleinman, Springfield Township Tax Collector, welcomes you to the neighborhood. If you own and live in your home, you’re eligible for the Homestead Exclusion — a property tax reduction offered by Montgomery County that’s deducted from your School Tax bill.
Apply by March 1st
Fill out the enclosed Homestead/Farmstead form, sign it, and mail it to the Montgomery County Board of Assessment Appeals.
Two Annual Bills
A County/Township bill arrives in February and a School bill in July. Pay early for a 2% discount, or late fees apply after the due date.
You Only Apply Once
Once approved, you stay on the list automatically each year — unless your ownership or occupancy status changes, in which case notify the Board.
